Story:

Stogue 1 is a legend. 1000 years ago he was built to be the protector of the underground world Rindal. Rindal was not only constantly under attack by surface beings but also falling apart. Chunks of the ceiling were repeatedly falling and it was Stogue 1's job to make sure it got fixed and no one was hurt. One (artificial/underground) day Stogue 1's sensors detected a serious disturbance in the earth: a bomb had been planted in the cave by the surface beings (he sensed their footsteps through the ground). This bomb triggered other bombs throughout the rest of the cave and had the potential to destroy the entire town. Stogue 1 rushed everyone out of the town, to the surface, but never made it out himself. he had gone back inside of the town to retrieve a boy who had been hiding because he was scared. Neither of them made it out alive and Stogue 1 would never forgive himself...

1000 years later:
Deep beneath the ruble of his former home (ceiling) a light blinked on. The Ancient legendary robot had awoken and began seeking new towns to protect (and make certain no town member was ever left behind again) and revenge on the surface beings.
(note: surface beings are a completely different race than the members of Rindal)
